A botanist and educator, Sweedle aims to bridge the gap between science and outreach through her venture, ‘The Leafy Walks.’ In Mumbai’s urban landscape, she blends storytelling, art, and “show-and-tell” with natural elements, nurturing ecological literacy and empathy across generations.

Since 2022, with her background in ecological restoration, she has been working towards encouraging environment stewardship. By blending fieldwork with hands-on education, Wasima helps youth across Northeast India discover a deep, personal connection to nature.

Early Bird partnered with WWF India to plan and launch the first edition of Young Birders Month (YBM) in November 2025. Individual educators, birders, and conservation organizations came together to conduct to 202 events conducted across 88 locations, spanning diverse geographies and communities in the country. Together, these activities reached 3000+ participants as young as four years old through to college students.
